Cottage Grove - Downtown Covered Bridges (#2008/Y1441) NEW
Begin the walk in the historic downtown district. Visit two covered bridges, one a rare vintage railroad covered bridge. Walk
along two sections of the Coast Fork of the Willamette River, past the new high school (striking architecture), through old and
new neighborhoods and past a golf course. Cottage Grove has twice been selected as an "All American City". 5 km. (3.1 miles) or 10 km. (6.2 miles).

Cottage Grove "Covered Bridge" Walk (#2008/Y0180)
This easy 11 km. (6.8 mile) walk starts from the Dorena Covered Bridge about 15 miles east of Cottage Grove. The route goes
through the village of Dorena, then onto the Row River Rails-to-Trails paved path alongside Dorena Reservoir, then retraces
itself back to the covered bridge. A very beautiful walk with water, woods, and mountain scenery.

Eugene "Roses and History" Walk (#2008/Y1203)
An easy 10 km. (6.2 mile) walk with great variety. Start and finish
walking beside the Willamette River on a paved bike/walk trail. Includes the extensive Owen Rose Garden (more than roses),
the unique 5th Street Public Market, the Skinner Butte Historical Area with residences from the 1850s to the 1920s, the replica
of Eugene Skinner’s cabin, and a unique new playground.

Eugene "Talking Stones" Walk (#2008/Y1233)
This easy walk, which has 5 km. (3.1 mile) and 11 km. (6.8 mile) options,
is entirely within Alton Baker Regional Park, on the banks of the Willamette River. In the "Whilamut Natural Area" are placed
stones with words in both the Kalapuyan and English languages to describe this place where the Kalapuya Indians lived
thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans. The 5 km. option passes ten of these stones; the longer option passes
all eleven stones. A very beautiful walk including forest, river, and prairie on paved and bark paths.

Eugene - "University and Historic Cemetery" Walk (#2008/Y0413) NEW
This 5 km. (3.1 mile) or 10 km. (6.2 mile) walk leads from a neighborhood park to a shady cemetery with graves and biographies of
many famous Oregon pioneers, then through older upscale neighborhoods to the University of Oregon campus and parts of downtown
Eugene.

Eugene "Riverwalk" (#2008/Y1970)
A very popular walk, this easy 10 km. (6.2 mile) walk follows both sides of the Willamette
River on wide paved bike/walk paths. Starting at the Valley River Inn, close to the Valley River regional shopping center,
the route crosses the Greenway Footbridge to follow the rushing river north to the Owosso Footbridge, crossing it to return
past the Delta Ponds to the start point. Wildlife and abundant waterfowl seen all seasons of the year.

Springfield "History and Murals" Walk (#2008/Y0800)
This easy walk, with 5 km. (3.1 mile) and 10 km. (6.2 mile) options has
much to see: historic well-preserved working class homes from the 1890s through 1940s in the Washburn Historic District,
exquisite murals downtown, and (on the longer option) the Dorris Ranch Living History Farm (the nation's first commercial
filbert farm). In Fall, Winter, and Spring, informative and entertaining talks on the region’s history and nature are presented
frequently at the Dorris Ranch.
